IPOH: The Education Ministry is satisfied with the adherence to
security measures for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination which
starts today.
Its director-general Datuk Dr Khair Mohamad Yusof said he was
satisfied with the overall compliance with the security of the
examination papers.
He met reporters at the SMK Anderson here early this morning where he
had checked the safe room procedures involving distribution of
examination papers to chief invigilators.
"On the whole, I am satisfied with compliance with the standard
operating procedures in the distribution of SPM examination papers," he
said in a brief press conference at the school.
He said the Education Ministry is continuing its efforts to improve
the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), adding that a special
independent committee set-up for the purpose was still gathering inputs
from various quarters.
On the SPM examination, he said 455,836 students would be sitting the examination at 3,655 centres nationwide starting today.
